Barnegat Striped Bass Fishing Charter

Had the Doug party out today for a bass trip. The morning started out slow on the troll so with no bites we moved over to some snag and drop and we immediately had our first bass right off the bathing beach. With no other fish around I got a call from another capt that the fish were on down south of seaside. So we made the move. We were catching fish all day on the snag and drop and my favorite way jig head with a white shad. By the end of the day the guys had there limit and started to catch and release. The biggest bass off the day was a 32 pounder. Thanks guys for a great day. We will be sailing all week for big bass.

Barnegat Bay Fishing Report 5/29

With the Sea Bass season opening on Monday 5/23 the angling was great, few ling and cod were mixed in. It seems you can always count on them when the Striped Bass slow down. We had several trips this week and did pretty well pounding the Sea Bass. Most of our anglers this week wanted to target Striped Bass so we mixed it up every trip. We had another great group out yesterday we left the dock around 7am. When we hit Barnegat Inlet the fog was thick. With most boats turning around the REEL CHAOS equipped with raymarine radar we ventured out. With the fog thick we put out our trolling gear  and started heading north. We had our Toni Maja pole working with a white spoon and on the other side we had a Mojo Rig working.  We were in about 55ft of water when we got our first fish. We were just shy of the bathing beach. We continued north with slow pickings when I got a call saying there were bunker off the beach around seaside. When we arrived things looked very promising with tons of bunker around. We snag and dropped which is my favorite way to catch bass but  unfortunately we didn't have any luck. With the guys having fun catching bunker we elected to hit some wrecks and back to the Sea Bass. After filling up on Sea Bass we decided to come into the bay to try our luck on some Fluke. We were in about 5ft of water east side of bay having a ton of fun with some small Fluke (No keepers).
After all said and done we had a good day fun by all and thats what really matters. The same guys booked us in July to try for some monster Fluke. Thanks Again Guys.
Still have some dates open.

Barnegat Fishing Report 6/22/14

Today we were out with a great family from Colorado, they were staying for a week on Long Beach Island. We broke Barnegat Inlet around 7am and headed north towards the bathing beach. We were in search of some diving birds, to try our luck for some striped bass. We ran into some bunker and snag and dropped for alittle while, with no bass around we decided to hit some wrecks. We hit the tires and some other popular places when we decided to move more south. With no other boats around we found the fish. We were on the black sea bass and fluke for the rest of the trip. Although we traveled over 75 miles threw out the day, we here at Reel Chaos try our hardest to put our customers on the fish. We would like to thank Ron,Gagie and Jack for another great day.

June 14 - Barnegat Fishing Report

We were out today hitting the Striped Bass with some great guys from PA. We left out of Barnegat Inlet around 8am, it was a beautiful day although the ocean had 4 footers it was no challenge for our new 28ft Regulator. We started the day by trolling north along Island Beach State Park in about 35ft to 40ft of water. It was slow pickins, we trolled up to about the bathing beach when we decided to move out to deeper water. We were in about 55ft when things picked up, unfortunately it was not the fish we were looking for, we ran into some nice sized Bluefish. The guys had a blast. We were marking alot of bunker but could not find the bass today. So we decided to hit some wrecks. What started out as a slow day, quickly turned into a good productive day. We did real good hitting a few wrecks, coming home with some nice Black Sea Bass, Bluefish and Fluke. We were using clam and the old killie and squid combo seem to never let us down. Thanks guys for a great day. Give us a call we still have some dates available. Sorry we are now booked for the Mako Mania.
Thanks Capt Tom
