June 14 - Barnegat Fishing Report

We were out today hitting the Striped Bass with some great guys from PA. We left out of Barnegat Inlet around 8am, it was a beautiful day although the ocean had 4 footers it was no challenge for our new 28ft Regulator. We started the day by trolling north along Island Beach State Park in about 35ft to 40ft of water. It was slow pickins, we trolled up to about the bathing beach when we decided to move out to deeper water. We were in about 55ft when things picked up, unfortunately it was not the fish we were looking for, we ran into some nice sized Bluefish. The guys had a blast. We were marking alot of bunker but could not find the bass today. So we decided to hit some wrecks. What started out as a slow day, quickly turned into a good productive day. We did real good hitting a few wrecks, coming home with some nice Black Sea Bass, Bluefish and Fluke. We were using clam and the old killie and squid combo seem to never let us down. Thanks guys for a great day. Give us a call we still have some dates available. Sorry we are now booked for the Mako Mania.
Thanks Capt Tom

Barnegat Fishing Report 6/20/14

Today we had two great guys aboard, Paul and Brian, for a father son trip. Since it was Brian`s first fishing trip they elected to try one of our 4 hour family bay trips. We left the dock around 7am and headed out into Barnegat Bay. As soon as we left Forked River we saw birds working near the BI and immediately started hooking up with some nice Bluefish using the pink Fin-S. When the action slowed down we headed near Double Creek Channel, in about 4 to 5ft of water we hit some small Fluke using red and white bucktails. Lots of action and good fun on ultra light tackle. Thanks Guys..

Winter Tackle Care 12/29/13

As winter moves in its time to close the book to another great season. Tackle and gear are put away for another year. But before you put your fishing tackle away until spring, make sure that it sufficiently winterized. Doing so can not only extend the life of your equipment, it can save you preparation time in a few months when the days get longer and warmer, the sun a little higher in the sky and the new season is upon us. Here are a few tips on cold weather tackle storage designed to get your gear through the winter in great shape to get back out on the water come springtime.

Barnegat Fishing Charter 7-8-13

barnegat fluke fishing charterFluking is good right now!!
Today we had two great guys aboard Brian and Patrick a father son trip..We headed out around 8am and went right out to about 68ft of water at the tires.. We didn`t even have all our lines in and Patrick was hooked up..We found a pretty good hole where every drift we would pick up two or three fish..Some nice size Fluke mixed in with a lot of shorts and Skate.
There where tons of Bunker around so for the fun of it we pulled out the snag hook and started snagging bunker for that one lonely bass but no bites.
We then decided to turn our trip into some good old fashion Blue fishing.. We got the ultralights rigged up and ready to go small blues ranging from three quarter pounds up to five pounds seem to be all over the place right now.
With tired arms and lots of smiles we headed home...Brian and Patrick are already booked for the Barnegat Spring Striper run...
Thanks again guys..
